The short version
Abstraply is a free-to-play forecasting game. You predict outcomes, earn points and reputation for accuracy, and climb a public leaderboard. Points are for bragging rights only — they're never redeemable for cash. Play fair, don't abuse the system, and we'll keep the lights on. The full clauses below are what actually governs your use.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, browsing events, or submitting a prediction on Abstraply (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Abstraply. We may offer translated versions for convenience; the English version controls in the event of a conflict.
Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you'll keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential.
- One account per person. Duplicate or "sock-puppet" accounts created to farm points, referrals, or leaderboard rank may be merged or removed.
- You must notify us promptly at the address in Section 14 if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
What Abstraply Is
Abstraply is a prediction-tracking and accuracy-scoring platform. Users forecast the outcome of public events (e.g. market moves, elections, sports, product launches), attach a confidence rating, and are scored on how well their predictions match reality over time.
Key Definitions
A few terms recur throughout these Terms. They mean the following:
Points, Rewards & Referrals
Points are awarded according to the scoring rules published on our How It Works page, which we may adjust from time to time to keep scoring fair as the Service evolves. Adjustments apply prospectively unless we state otherwise.
- Referral codes may earn bonus Points for both the referrer and the new user once the referred account completes onboarding.
- We may revoke Points obtained through fraud, exploits, collusion, or manipulation of Event outcomes.
- Any physical or digital badges, cosmetic rewards, or leaderboard placement tied to Points are provided "as-is" and may be discontinued at any time.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to manipulate an Event's outcome, resolution, or scoring in your favor;
- Use bots, scrapers, or automation to submit Predictions or inflate engagement metrics;
- Harass, impersonate, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with Abstraply;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or probe the Service beyond normal, permitted use;
- Upload unlawful, infringing, hateful, or sexually explicit content in comments, usernames, or avatars.
We may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section, at our reasonable discretion and proportional to the conduct involved.
Content & Intellectual Property
Abstraply and its licensors own all rights in the Service's software, design, branding, and Event content we author. You retain ownership of anything you submit (comments, avatars, forecasts rationale), but grant Abstraply a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the Service, including on public pages like leaderboards.
Public Leaderboard & Reputation
Participation is inherently social: your display name, country flag (if set), rank, Points, and Accuracy Score appear on public leaderboard and Event pages. You can limit some visibility in account settings, but competitive ranking features require a minimum level of public display to function.
Disclaimers
The Service, including all Event data, odds displays, and community sentiment indicators, is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Abstraply does not guarantee that Event resolutions are error-free. Where we identify a resolution error, we will correct it and adjust affected scores where reasonably possible, but we are not obligated to do so retroactively in every case.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Abstraply and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of Points, rank, or Reputation, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, fraud, or willful misconduct where such a limitation is prohibited.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of Section 6, extended inactivity, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; certain sections (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be flagged in-app or by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Abstraply is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise. We encourage resolving disputes informally first by contacting us using the details below.
